With a career spanning over 40 years, reggae icon, Jimmy Cliff will soon be entered into the Cleveland Rock hall of fame forthcoming March.

For many, their introduction to Jimmy Cliff was by way of his lead role and title track from the cult classic film “The harder they come”; a story about a young, jamaican rudie determined to find a way out of hardships and trouble by developing himself as an artist.

He is the only living musician to hold the Order of Merit, the highest honour granted by the Jamaican government for achievement in the arts and sciences.

Cliff’s “Many rivers to cross”, gained wide appeal from a cross-section of the music industry leading to a diverse group of artistes such as Cher, UB40, Annie Lennox, Martha Reeves, Linda Ronstadt, Lenny Kravitz and more doing their own versions of the song.

Swedish pop group Abba and The Hollies will also receive inductions this March.
