R&B songstress Erykah Badu, will make her second performance in Jamaica Friday, January 29 at the JAMAICA Jazz and Blues Festival.

Badu replaces Jennifer Hudson, who pulled out after being asked by music mogul Clive Davis to perform during a special tribute the Grammy’s will be dedicating to him.

Badu burst

onto the scene with a critically acclaimed debut album, Baduizm (1997), which debuted at #2 on Billboard.  Erykah has continued to record hit songs and mesmerise international audiences.  Erykah’s repertoire includes five albums and a sixth to be released this year.

“…were wondering who we could get that could WOW everyone and just take the Festival to a whole new level.  Erykha Badu is a great singer, a great performer, and she will bring her flair and style to the Festival…” says Walter Elmore, the executive producer of the JAMAICA Jazz and Blues Festival.

The 2010 JAMAICA Jazz and Blues Festival will be a seven-day long celebration of The Art of Music being held in Montego Bay from January 24-30.

Having seen performances from the likes of Alicia Keyes, Kenny Rogers, and many more, the Festival stage will this year welcome Gladys Knight, Joss Stone, Erykah Badu, John Staccado, Deborah Cox, Kelly Price, Tamia, and timeless reggae crooner Billy Ocean returns as well as reggae band Third World.
